Fly Green Alliance was part of Women in Football’s inaugural Entrepreneur Mentorship Program which provided support, advice and as well as a business mentor to support the pioneering work FGA have done within football, banging the drum to encourage football to embrace their role, and their sponsorship clout, in environmental topics since 2018.
Having worked with Norwegian FA, Birmingham County FA, UEFA supported LIFE TACKLE and other sports groups, Fly Green Alliance and Sarah Wilkin started some of the first ever work done in sustainability within football, and enabled some of the first sustainable aviation fuel use in sport too.
Ella Williams also from the first Women in Football entrepreneurship program was part of making the documentary COPA 71, about the first ever Women’s World Cup in Mexico in 1971, but this was not documented and led to women’s football being banned and it was erased from football history until now. The documentary was part of https://www.hebdenbridgefilmfestival.org/ where Sarah went to support Ella at the event where she was interviewed about the making of the film.
